Occupational Safety & Health Standards Fit Testing Procedures (Mandatory) by OSHA government guidelines Regulations standards (29 CFR - 1910.134) require respirators be used in locations where employees are subject to possible contaminations at the worksite.  Employers requiring the use of respirators must adhere to the OSHA standard program as indicated in Regulations Standards 29-CFR 1910.134 App. A.
